Adobe Flash, which powers the world of online video today, continues to evolve to support new technologies, and we handle Adobe’s advanced capabilities with ease. Furthermore, Adobe and Highwinds have partnered to offer hosted services for delivering on-demand video for Flash Player through the Flash Video Streaming Service.

Are you offering the next generation of media experiences with Microsoft Silverlight? Silverlight is revolutionizing video with its flexible programming model, which supports AJAX, VB, C#, Python and Ruby, and its ability to integrate into existing web applications. The Highwinds CDN has been Silverlight-ready since Microsoft’s launch of the application.
Our solutions are “true” streaming because the user can skip to any point in the stream at any time. This is especially useful for delivering long‐form content. And when combined with another advanced capability called “bandwidth throttling,” we can deliver a robust streaming experience at lower price points.
Unlike many other CDNs, we are able to deliver on-demand streaming solutions for all the major media players: Microsoft Silverlight, Windows Media Player, Adobe Media Player and Adobe Flash. And because of the way our network was built, we deliver these solutions at the industry’s highest bit-rates and at extremely competitive prices.

CASE STUDY: National Association of Broadcasters Streams NAB Show
The National Association of Broadcasters selected Highwinds as its content delivery network (CDN) partner for the 2009 NAB Show. Video highlights from the event were delivered to online audiences over the Highwinds CDN during and after the event, which took place April 18-23 in Las Vegas. NAB Show is the world’s largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management, and delivery of content across all mediums.
Highwinds worked closely with the National Association of Broadcasters and Digital Rapids, who provided transcoding technology onsite at the show. Video of the event, including daily highlights, studio segments, and attendee and exhibitor interviews were made available for on-demand distribution to worldwide audiences over the Highwinds CDN. The video content was available through the NAB Show web site at www.nabshow.com.
