Turn IP Addresses into Actionable Customer Data - Your CDN Can Help
Posted on May 9, 2013
In the olden days, selling goods from a store required physical access. People rode their horse, tied it up, etc. As a vendor, you knew this person could only come as far as a horse could take them. If you sold ice cream, that's about all you needed to know. If there was a bridge that was in disrepair and in danger of collapsing a mile from your shop, you'd advise your customers to avoid the bridge and take the 3-mile detour.
As transportation networks expanded, less was known about where your customers came from. With airplanes and mail-order, a customer could be from around the world. Still, with a postal address you'd know where they were coming from and if you noticed a lot of customers from Singapore coming to your shop in Michigan, you may consider opening a branch in Oceania.

The Thrill of the Launch
Posted on November 30, 2012
As a CDN we get the opportunity to work with many different types of customers --- video websites, online ad networks, software distributors and many more. Some customers have an established web presence and have pushed a steady stream of online content for years while others are just getting started, hoping to find an audience and build a business. The great thing about our role in the delivery of online content is that we're along for the ride! Take our
GDN™ (Game Delivery Network™) customers for example. When a customer launches a new game, we're as excited as they are to see how successful it will be. From a massive PC download to the latest mobile game, we are a vested partner, hoping the game is a hit. By the time the launch happens, our technical team has typically spent time working directly with the game developer's technical and operations teams --- planning, tweaking and preparing for the big moment.
